International Tactical Training Weekend

Our senior Israeli instructor brings decades of military, counterterrorism, leadership, and international training experience to this program.

He served in Sayeret Golani, the Golani Brigade’s specialized reconnaissance and counterterrorism unit, progressing through roles as a combat soldier, platoon commander, and counterterrorism officer and commander. During his active service, he trained military personnel in counterterrorism tactics and operations in complex urban and densely populated environments.

His operational experience includes combat leadership, special operations, and extensive service in some of Israel’s most challenging security environments. After being wounded during combat operations, he rehabilitated and returned to command.

Following active military service, he continued training specialized military units, security forces, and intervention teams internationally, bringing Israeli principles of preparedness, leadership, resilience, tactical decision-making, and security to professionals around the world.

He has continued serving for many years in the Israeli reserves in a command role within a small, specialized unit, including extensive operational service following the attacks of October 7, 2023.

Beyond military service, his work has focused heavily on leadership development, resilience, strengthening vulnerable populations, and helping Jewish communities around the world improve their preparedness and security capabilities.

Shane Ammerman is a United States Marine Corps veteran, Founder and CEO of HCCI Professional Protective Services, and owner of HCCI Tactical Training Solutions and the nationally recognized HCCI Law Enforcement Krav Maga Defensive Tactics Instructor Program. With more than two decades of experience across martial arts, firearms, defensive tactics, executive protection, and hands-on security operations, Shane has built his career around one mission: raising the standard of how professionals prepare to protect others.

Shane has trained extensively in Israel, completing advanced programs in October 2025 and June 2026 alongside Israeli military, counterterrorism, security, firearms, and defensive-tactics professionals. During his most recent training in Israel, he finished among the highest-graded professionals in the program and received the endorsement of the Israeli counterterrorism commander and team he trained alongside. His Israeli training has included tactical weapons instruction, defensive tactics, close-quarters problem solving, protective security concepts, and performance under pressure.

In July 2026, Shane hosted and led the HCCI Law Enforcement Krav Maga Defensive Tactics Instructor Course in conjunction with the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, bringing together law enforcement, security, military, martial arts, and public-safety professionals for an intensive instructor-development program. His work and training methodology have also received endorsement from the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

His professional training includes Krav Maga Black Belt and instructor credentials, Israeli Tactical Weapons Instructor training, NRA firearms instructor certifications, Advanced Defensive Tactics Instructor training, ASP Instructor certification, PepperBall Instructor certification, and Orcutt Police Nunchaku (OPN) Instructor certification. His martial arts background also includes Combative Jujitsu, Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Tang Soo Do. Shane has additionally completed six U.S. Department of Homeland Security counterterrorism and bombing-prevention training programs.

Outside the classroom, Shane remains actively involved in real-world protective operations. Through HCCI, he has protected schools, synagogues, Jewish organizations, businesses, executives, faith communities, and high-risk individuals throughout Colorado. He has worked alongside organizations including the Secure Community Network in Jewish community protection training and is developing international preparedness and resilience programs with Jewish Resilience in Israel.

Shane's philosophy is simple: training should not exist to check a box. It should create professionals who can think, adapt, make sound decisions under pressure, protect lives, and go home safe.

Steve Furmedge brings more than 40 years of experience in law enforcement, counterterrorism, tactical operations, and modern martial arts. A former Senior Government Executive, Steve spent 13 years as a frontline operative in covert operations, founded and directed the Western Australian Government Transit Officer Unit, and has contributed more than two decades of experience to Australian and New Zealand counterterrorism committees.

An internationally recognized weapons and tactics specialist, Steve's expertise includes counter-surveillance, covert operations, use of force, close-quarter combat, and operational work in high-risk environments. He has trained military personnel, law enforcement professionals, and civilians around the world, including in Israel, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, Thailand, and the United States.

Steve is the Founder and Head Instructor of the Ronin Combat Institute and serves as the Federation of Israeli Martial Arts Ambassador for Australia. His training emphasizes practical application, adaptability, sound decision-making, and performance under pressure.

Scot Williams brings more than 30 years of law enforcement experience with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, serving in positions ranging from patrol deputy and detective to training sergeant, SWAT leadership, and ultimately Operations Division Commander and Commander of the Boulder County Drug Task Force.

Throughout his career, Scot held extensive leadership and instructional responsibilities involving firearms, defensive tactics, SWAT operations, crisis negotiations, less-lethal systems, tactical communications, de-escalation, emergency response, and use-of-force decision-making. He also served as Commander of the Boulder County SWAT and Bomb Squad, Riot Team Commander, SWAT Negotiations Team Leader, and director of regional Crisis Intervention Team programs.

Scot is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, and the DEA Drug Unit Commander Academy. His instructional background includes NRA handgun and shotgun instruction, Krav Maga, defensive tactics, Taser, firearms, and less-lethal systems. He is also a Colorado State Sheriff’s and Parks & Wildlife verified firearms instructor for concealed-carry and firearm-safety training and a US Law Shield Partner and Instructor.

Beyond law enforcement, Scot has dedicated decades to protecting faith communities. He served with Rocky Mountain Christian Church for approximately 30 years, including as Safety & Security Director, overseeing security and medical response teams, emergency planning, training, and operational safety across multiple campuses. He also serves as a certified chaplain with the Hudson Police Department.

Today, Scot owns Guardian Training and Consulting (G-TaC), providing firearms instruction, concealed-carry training, scenario-based use-of-force training, situational awareness, de-escalation, active-threat preparedness, and security consulting.

Scot brings to this training weekend a rare combination of command-level law enforcement experience, firearms and defensive-tactics instruction, crisis response, faith-based security leadership, and decades of real-world decision-making under pressure.
